Veterans Transition Support combines programs to prepare Veterans, Active Duty Personnel and Reservists for an effective transition.  These Veterans Transition Support sponsored programs include Veterans Career Management Workshops, LEAN Certification, Disability Claim Filing, Veteran Instructed OSHA Training Courses, Security Guard Training, Veterans Business Networking Mixers and Veterans On-Boarding Support.

VETERANS CAREER MANAGEMENT WORKSHOPS

Veterans Transition Support sponsors and coordinates Veterans Career Management Workshops that are facilitated by VA GI Bill Work Study Interns who conduct the workshops in groups of 8-10 participants with a hands-on, step-by-step method that transfers military experience into civilian job skills that match employer's needs. The Veterans Career Management Workshops are conducted at Veteran Resources Centers on college campuses, on military bases, at American Legion Halls, Veterans Resource Centers and at the Veterans Transition Support facility in a 3 session cycle comprised of:

1) a written step-by-step Personal Inventory of personal preferences, personality profile, job criteria, skills assessment and experience;

 2) a Networking, Nonverbal Communication and Interviewing Skills Workshop with practical application exercises done in-class; and

3) a Mock Video Interview to pull all the lessons together with documented practical application of the previous exercises. Participants are allowed to repeat the Mock Video Interview for additional practice.

Veterans, Reservists and Active Duty Military Personal who complete the Veterans Career Management Workshops are provided additional individualized Career Coaching, Job Development and Employment Placement Services to assist them in their job search and networking efforts. 

OSHA TRAINING COURSES

Veterans Transition Support sponsors weekend OSHA training events at military bases which are instructed by "OSHA Authorized" veteran instructors who are experienced in training military personnel. OSHA training classes include OSHA 10 Hour General Safety, OSHA 10 Hour Construction Safety, OSHA 30 Hour General Safety, OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety, Confined Space, Hazardous Materials, Traffic Control, CPR/First Aid and other OSHA safety training courses to transfer military experience into civilian job safety skills. We have sponsored over 500 military service members since April 2014.  

VETERANS BUSINESS NETWORKING MIXERS

Veterans Business Networking Mixers are an integral part of the Veterans Transition Support employment program and they conducted in partnership with the Orange County Veterans Employment Committee and the American Legion to provide networking opportunities for veterans, reservists and active duty personnel and match them with businesses that want to hire veterans

VETERANS ON-BOARDING SUPPORT -

.The Veterans Transition Support On-Boarding Support Program provides gas cards, bus passes, tools and employment related equipment to any veteran who lands a job with resources to ensure they can get to that job through their first pay period. Please contact us if you need On-Boarding Support-
